The Master Mind

My husband started this mental cleanse almost three months prior to me. He asked me to do it with him and I refused at first. He spoke about joining a network marketing company and it made me cringe.

For three months, my husband was out there doing the mental cleanse and building a network marketing business……without me. This was not normal for us. In life, we MASTER MIND together. Yet, here I was, unwilling to participate. Unwilling to believe. Even becoming jealous that he was on the computer all the time. Jealous that he would not sit and watch TV with me. How silly this all sounds now. Here was this man, who had helped me with my own business for ten years. A man willing to constantly sacrifice for his family. A man who was only guilty of trying to make a better life for his family. And there I was….stubborn, unsupportive and quite honestly, selfish. THANK GOODNESS I GOT OVER MYSELF.

I am writing all this to say that guys, we do need each other. Your spouse needs you. Like Napolean HIll says in the book. ” When a group of individual brains is coordinated and functions in harmony, the increased energy created through the alliance becomes available to every individual brain in the group.” We are all feeding off each others energy. If I am a spouse who is not supporting her husband, what kind of energy am I feeding him?

In a marriage , is harmony not crucial? With harmony comes peace. If we are not harboring, protecting and supporting our spouses dreams…..how will a marriage survive in the long run? How will there be peace in a marriage where two people are “doing their own thing,” and not MASTERMINDING together, sharing ideas, and feeding off each others energy?
Working together will only get us to our goals that much sooner. We will be that much more powerful because we feed off each others “phenomenal energy.” I am talking about all of us on this call. We motivate each other to succeed. We inspire each other as we go, listening to and reading each others lessons plans. Giving words of encouragement. We surround ourselves with people who are working towards the same goal. We MASTERMIND together on these calls. We all realize, that we CANNOT BE SUCCESSFUL ALONE.

It took me longer then it should have. The Mental Cleanse is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. It has made me really look at myself and think about what exactly I want out of my life and out of my marriage. Chapter 10 hammered it home. I will never get those three months back, where my husband was out there without me. However, I will make sure that from now on that I am his “phenomenal energy.” After all, when we take those vows are we not promising to MASTERMIND through this life together?

MY COFFEE ADDICTION

I do not like to say that I am “addicted” to anything. However, I have a coffee addiction. Not just plain coffee, foo foo $5 coffee

Today, I pulled into an empty Caribou Coffee Shop. It was shocking for me to see that at 8:00 in the morning, the place was dead. I have been going to Caribou now for years. Most days you cannot even find a parking spot. ESPECIALLY, on a weekday morning at 8:00 in the when everyone is starting the morning grind. I have noticed the same at Starbucks.

The last two weeks I have noticed a steady decline, every time I have gone there for coffee the parking lot was a little less full. However, today, I was one of about 4 others in the whole shop. One of those “others” was my husband. We walked up to the counter and I was not surprised to see they had raised the prices on all the specialty coffees.

I suppose when gas is through the roof and money is tight, a little luxury like specialty coffee falls off the radar screen. I guess you have to start making choices about what you are and what you are NOT going to spend your money on.

I am not one of those people. I want to have my specialty coffee when I want it. I want the financial freedom to drive 30 miles to Caribou or Starbucks, ANYTIME of the day and spend $5 on a frivolous cup of coffee. I want to open my laptop and be surrounded by the ambiance of a coffee shop. I want to feed my coffee addiction when I desire to do so.

I don’t want to search “starbucks coffee recipes” on the internet and find out a cheaper way to make it at home. WHY would I do that? I’m a busy woman. One of my “little luxeries”, is going to a coffee shop, having someone else pour me that hot, steamy, beautiful, mocha colored liquid in a cup. They even place it on the counter in front of me and say,” Vanilla Chai with Raspberry for Angela.” That makes a coffee addict very warm and fuzzy inside. Hot, steamy, beautiful , mocha colored liquid……..just for me, anytime I want it. A simple pleasure that on some days makes all the difference.

The Morning Grind

Did you wake up this morning and wish you could hit the alarm clock and sleep a little longer? Did you wake up and wish you had a 7 day weekend? Are you tired of punching the clock? Tired of someone telling that you “only get an hour for lunch.”? How about someone telling you how much vacation you have?

Have you ever believed you could be successful at working from home? Surveys show that 85% of Americans would like to work from home. Why don’t they do it?
1. Too much money to invest
2. Too much time required
3. High risk
4. They are clueless on how to get started

How about Network Marketing?
Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki say it is a viable and rewarding source of income. You can bet no one tells them how much vacation they have or how long they have for lunch.
Network Marketing is responsible for $110 billion in global sales…every year. That’s more than Coco-Cola, FedEx, General Dynamics and Microsoft-combined.
If Network Marketing has ever been a consideration for you and even if you have never given it a thought…..read on about what to look for in top network marketing companies.

5 Pillar Companies

I know what your thinking…..what the heck is a 5 Pillar Company and why do I care?
I am going to tell you the answers to both of those questions.
If you are contemplating joining a network marketing company, you MUST do your research. If it is not a 5 Pillar company, you may be doomed due to no fault of your own.

There are 5 easy things to look for.
1. Does the company management have solid experience backed with UNQUESTIONABLE integrity?
2. Timing in the industry. Timing within national and global trends
3. Does the company have life changing products? Would people buy these products even if there was not a compensation plan attached to them
4. Does the company have a compensation plan that rewards the top builders as well as the part-time person? Studies do show that 96% of your team will be made of part-time people.
5. Does the company have a duplicatable system? Will it allow a part time person to make significant residual income and a full time person make extraordinary income?
These are called THE 5 PILLARS OF SUCCESS. If the Network Marketing Company you are considering joining does not have these……………FIND ONE THAT DOES.

Persistence & Mentoring For free

This made me think of 13 years ago when I was 21 years
old and decided to move to North Carolina to fulfill my
dream of becoming a Police Officer.

I had wanted to do this since I was 12 years old.

Did I mention I was 4′11 and 3/4? Yes…the 3/4 DOES
matter.

As you can imagine I was told by every person I came
across I was too small. These dream stealer’s told
me there was NO WAY, I could become a police officer.

They said no one would ever take me seriously.

I refused to buy into that negative thinking. I was
out to prove something to them and myself.

From the time I was a teenager I read every book I
could get my hands on having to do with Law
Enforcement. When I graduated from high school, I
went on to major in Criminal Justice and graduated
with a degree in that.

A friend who lived in North Carolina told me they
were looking for female officers in Durham. What?
Leave my parents, siblings, friends, boyfriend,
perfect little small town, sheltered life for a
shot at my dream? You got that right…..

I was ready to GO.

My Mom and I drove from New York to North Carolina
for my first interview in the blizzard of 1995. I
didn’t care that everything was closed on the way
down and that you couldn’t see what lane you were
in on the highway. This was my dream, right? The
drive should have taken 10 hours…it took 18.

When i made it there, there was no one at the police
department to interview me. There was a blizzard…
everything was closed…everyone was home. The
secretary saw me come in and I told her I was there
for my interview. That I had driven all night and
was ready to go. I said, “If they don’t realize
how bad I want this job now, their crazy.” She
called around and found some people to interview me.

When I walked into that interview…NEVER once did I
think that I would go in that room and they would see
I was 4′11 3/4 and send me away. You see, in my mind
I am SO NOT 4′11 and 3/4……I walk taller, you know
what I mean.

Interview went terrific. I knew I was going to get
the job. Two weeks later, I did.

My parents rented a u-haul, towed my old blue pick up
truck behind it and drove me down. Halfway there, I
told them to take me home. I told them I was scared.
I told them no way was I going to do this. My dad
said,” We are not taking you home. You will do this.”
They stayed for a week to get me settled and then off
they went.

I was left alone, only knowing one single person in
the whole state. What was I thinking? This is my
dream, this is my dream, this is MY dream.

I started the academy and it was hard. Yes, I was
the smallest one in the class. Yes, I struggled with
shooting a 45, with a 13 pound trigger pull. Yes, I
knew that to pass I had to climb a flat 6 foot high
wall and drag a 140 pound dummy out of a car. Yes, I
knew I had to get pepper sprayed and teargassed…..
but this was MY DREAM….and I AM NOT TOO SMALL FOR
ANYTHING.

I was never so scared as the day I had to get over
that wall. I couldn’t eat that morning. I was a
wreck…but I kept telling myself…you have come
this far…you WILL get over the wall.

I held my breath and ran towards the wall…..one of
my instructors was there and he whispered,” You can
do this,” right before I jumped and grabbed hold. My
academy class was going wild, they were chanting my
name, they were all with me..I KNEW I WAS GETTING
OVER THAT WALL.

Yes… you guessed it, I got over that wall.

I was a Police Officer for 8 years and will always
look at that as one of my proudest achievements. I
never, ever gave up. I persevered.

Now, I have joined Mentoring For Free and have
another dream…..look out cause here I come! All
4′11 3/4 inches of me!

We all have walls to get over in our life….but
with persistence we all can get over them.

There are people out there out there chanting YOUR
name. There are people out there whispering to you
that “You can do this.” Be persistent and JUST DO IT.

Network Marketing: Why This Could Be A Viable Source of Income for The Stay At Home Mom

Let me give a definition of the two types of income we will talk about.

LINEAR - This is probably the type of income you receive right now. You trade time for dollars. If you stop working the income STOPS.

RESIDUAL INCOME - This is the type of income that we all want. With this type of income, you do the work right ONE TIME and get paid over and over. Athletes with endorsements, best selling authors, musicians, successful network marketing…..they do it right one time and get paid over and over.

Ok, guys first let’s get past the negative wrap that the term Network Marketing sometimes gets. Even saying the word to people will sometimes send them into a tailspin and they can’t say NO fast enough. These people are not knowledgeable about the Network Marketing Business…..so move on. Don’t sign up for that class.

Let me just say that Network Marketing works. When you find the right company with the right people involved, it just works. No one teaches us how to be entrepreneurs. Americans are taught to go to school, graduate…pick what “job” you want to do and then go to some more school, graduate and then go start punching in 9-5 somewhere. Why are we taught this? Honestly, it is what most of our parents do and what most Americans do. When I was in college there was no class to take that would teach me about residual income. There was no class to take that would teach me how to generate money from home. It was “Here’s you degree….now go get a job.”

Now, I will address the stay at home mom. I am one of those myself, so I have experience here. I have owned and operated a business from home for 10 years. It has allowed me to volunteer at my children’s school, go on field trips, shop when everyone else is at work, have coffee, lunch or whatever with my friends, and basically has given me the freedom to make my own schedule. It has been a huge blessing in my life. That said however….if I stop working at my home based job…the money stops too. If I’m not making and selling product, then no money is coming in. There is no residual income. This is true for most people. My husband is a police officer. If he stops working, then no pay check. There is a way around this…it’s called residual income.

Network marketing is a great option for the stay home mom. No child care, no transportation costs to child care, make your own schedule. EARN RESIDUAL INCOME. Yes, it is possible to stop living paycheck to pay check. It is possible to stop cutting coupons and wondering what YOUR family is going to go without so you can afford to stay home. IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. Don’t you want to learn how?

The Mental Cleanse – A Self Help Guide

I am not sure if any of you have ever heard of the 30 Day Mental Cleanse. It means not watching TV., reading newspapers, internet, listening to negative people, talking negative about anyone.etc
Basically, “stop the negative chatter in your mind.” You know some of that Self Help Stuff.

My husband, who is a police officer, started it about 4 months ago. I am only just finishing up month one.
What took me so long to join my husband you may wonder? Well…..to put it simply, I was in total denial.

I did not need Any Self Help!
I have always felt I was a pretty positive person. I was convinced I didn’t need to stop watching TV or reading the newspaper to prove that. ( This from someone who reads the obituaries in the paper first…how uplifting…lol)
I LOVED watching T.V. Now, I work from home so I never have time to watch T.V during the day. However…I was very much addicted to the wonderful invention called the DVR. As soon as things were settled at night I could not wait to cuddle up and watch T.V. I loved reality T.V. too. After all, it was the most dramatic. I mean how fun watching other peoples negativity and drama , right? Oh…and did I mention that every morning I checked the news headlines on the internet…..yes, very positive indeed…NOT.
I was convinced I could do all those above listed things and still be a truly positive person. Lets not EVEN get started about the listening to negative people. IT AMAZES ME THAT THE MOST NEGATIVE PEOPLE I KNOW CLAIM THEY CAN”T STAND NEGATIVE PEOPLE.

Power of Positive Thinking
After watching my husband, who is a police officer totally evolve as a person in the last four months. I decided that in fact there may be something to this Mental Cleanse stuff.
As many of you know, being a police officer is a thankless job. You are basically seeing other human beings at their worst. They are underpaid and underappreciated. These factors can make even the most positive person, negative. On top of all that, many of the guys my husband works with LOVE to sit around and talk about the injustices of the pay and lack of appreciation. So, my husband went to his negative job, came home and watched the negative news, read the negative headlines, listened to negative co-workers…you get the point. He decided enough was enough. He started a new business and joined Mentoring for Free and joined the mental cleanse. It has been amazing watching his transformation. I am so proud of him. So, you could say that he was my inspiration for finally doing it for myself. Wow, the power of positive thinking!

The first week I started it was pretty difficult. I was kind of consumed with the fact that I was not supposed to watch T.V. It was all I could think about. I started reading THINK AND GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill. This book is also part of the Mental Cleanse, you read a chapter a week, write a lesson plan and then get on the phone with others doing the same thing once a week and talk about it. More about that later……The book is a hard read but amazing. So, I changed from watching T.V. at night to reading books about the power of positive thinking. Eat, Pray, Love and the Go-Giver were two of my favorites.

Also during this process I became more aware of who the heck I was surrounding myself with.
I could not believe how my eyes were opened to the fact that there were many people in my life who did nothing but spew negativity. I guess I never realized it, before. What was worse….I kind of liked all that drama…oh no…..maybe I wasn’t as positive as I thought…Maybe I did need some of this self help!
I would get on the phone or get together with a friend for coffee and I was all too happy to engage in some negative, judgmental talk about someone else. This cleanse has made me realized that I enjoyed that gossip and negativity a little too much. We have a joke down here in the south that the we may say some pretty mean things but if we follow it up with “But bless their heart,”it somehow lessons the blow.

In the weeks that followed it got easier. I was so inspired by a chapter in Think and Grow Rich that I wrote a lesson plan that was picked from hundreds to be read by me on the weekly Mental Cleanse call. The people on the call that day had some pretty incredible feedback on my lesson plan. That has only inspired me further to continue this Mental Cleanse, to dig deep and really look at myself.

As one of my favorite authors says” Small minded people talk about people. Brilliant people talk about thoughts.”

I still struggle with that from time to time. I am far from perfect. I am learning as I go. In the beginning of this cleanse, I was doubtful. Now, I am excited for each next step!

Selling Arbonne

Anyone out there ever think of selling Arbonne? Anyone out there selling Arbonne and wondering why you are having no success?

I tried to sell arbonne. I was successful at first. It was no problem to have someone try the Arbonne skin products or sample the arbonne make-up. Most people say “yes” when you hand them a bag full of Arbonne skin products and tell them they get to try it all for free for a whole week. After a week some would become physically ill when I told them the price!

If you want to have Arbonne success you must make a specific quota every month. If you don’t, well, they take all you’ve built away and you start at zero my friend. That’s a disaster!

No one that I know that was selling Arbonne when I started is still there today. The Arbonne skin care products are great, don’t get me wrong.
But beware of the pay plan it is deceiving.

“Most people I show this Ebook to get excited about it and download it, but some don’t. Some people want to spend their time watching television letting the answering machine talk to the bill collectors.”

All I can say is if you ever get a chance to see Tom “Big Al” Schreiter, go. Angela and I went last night to one of his 3 hour seminars in Greensboro. It was great. Tom has been in the business for along time and he really knows how to make it fun. Tom teaches skills, so if your looking for a pep rally I would not go. But if your looking to pick up some skills and get your business going, then attend.

I asked my wife to write what she had gotten from Michael Dlouhy’s book, Success in 10 Steps.
Here is what she wrote:

I was recently given a book by my husband called, Success in 10 Steps, written by Michael Dlouhy. I have been involved in a few different network marketing opportunities over the years, so I was intrigued, but skeptical.

After I opened my mind and started reading, I was pleasantly surprised how hard it was to put down. I began to understand why I had not been successful in the past with network marketing. I began to understand that in the past I had not been given very good advice about network marketing.

My favorite chapter in the whole book was chapter 5, color personalities. Shut up and listen! Listen to what drives people. Listen to their desires, needs and fears. Listen, listen, listen.

Imagine that. Its not all about ME? What are you kidding? In the past network marketing opportunities I was consumed with ME, right? WRONG. Its about studying people. Michael refers to it as finding their “Sweet Spot.” He also says its about “relating, not recruiting.”

People check your “All about Me” attitude at the door and open your mind to learning and actually caring about the people around you. How can you help them?

Angela Bobal

Great stuff! You can read chapter 5 and the entire book just by going Here!.
